Our Riverside County HVAC technician returned to a grocery store with a second tech to replace a compressor on a McQuay unit. The two technicians removed the old compressor, replacing it and the liquid line dryer. Recharged the system with 43 pounds of refrigerant, filling out all appropriate refrigerant tracking forms. Cycled and tested the system, confirming unit #9 is operational again. Checked out over the phone with the customer, and onsite with the manager. Job complete.

HVAC job scheduled at a commercial property in Moreno Valley California. One package McQuay system needed a leak search and repair. The technician found signs of oil but no leak, but continued searching for location. After removing multiple panels he was able to find the leak in a tight section of the coil. The space is narrow but tech assessed it should be repairable. With leak located, will need to return to finish repair as it is later in the afternoon and will need to recover 57lbs of refrigerant. Unit is running so recommending return AM on the next business day so system isn't off overnight.
